Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Tokyngton
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps that Man with Van Tokyngton is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a provider of transport, removals and related services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights, promote fair working practices and ensure that exploitation has no place in our business.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Tokyngton adopts a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. This applies to every aspect of our business and to all individuals working for or on behalf of the company, including employees, agency workers, contractors and suppliers.
We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that disregards human rights or engages in any practice that could be considered modern slavery. Where concerns are identified, we will act swiftly to investigate, address and, where necessary, terminate relationships that do not meet our standards.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Our core services involve local and regional transport and removals. While our direct operations are relatively limited in scale, we engage with a range of suppliers, including vehicle and equipment providers, fuel and logistics partners, uniform suppliers and other service providers.
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can be heightened in extended or complex supply chains. We therefore seek to maintain clear visibility over our key suppliers and the nature of their operations, with a focus on ensuring that they share our commitment to ethical conduct and respect for workers.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Man with Van Tokyngton conducts proportionate due diligence on existing and prospective suppliers to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery. As part of this, we expect suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws in the jurisdictions in which they operate.
We reserve the right to undertake audits or request evidence from suppliers to demonstrate compliance with our modern slavery expectations. Such evidence may include details of recruitment practices, working conditions, wage arrangements and policies designed to prevent forced or trafficked labour. Where appropriate, we may carry out site visits or request independent audit reports to verify that standards are being met.
If a supplier is found to be in breach of our modern slavery standards and is unwilling or unable to rectify the issue within a reasonable timeframe, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Speaking Up
We encourage all employees, contractors, workers and other stakeholders to raise any concerns relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or unethical labour practices. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to any third party connected with our business, including suppliers and subcontractors.
Reports can be made to line managers or senior management, and individuals may raise issues confidentially if they prefer. We will treat all concerns seriously, investigate them promptly and, where appropriate, take corrective action. No person who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to promoting awareness of modern slavery risks among our team. As our business grows, we will provide training to relevant staff so they can recognise potential indicators of modern slavery, understand how to report concerns and appreciate the importance of responsible procurement and recruitment.
Managers and those involved in supplier selection or supervision will receive additional guidance on assessing labour practices and responding to any suspected issues within the supply chain.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
Man with Van Tokyngton is dedicated to continuous improvement in the prevention of modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement on an annual basis, or earlier if there are significant changes in our business operations, supply chain or applicable legislation.
As part of the annual review, we will consider the effectiveness of our actions, any incidents or concerns raised, outcomes of supplier audits and opportunities to enhance our policies, procedures and training. Where necessary, we will update our approach to ensure that it remains robust, relevant and aligned with best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Tokyngton and reflects our ongoing commitment to operating as a responsible and ethical business.
